Protype: Electric locomotive 1116 077 of the Austrian Federal Railways in the special design “Galileo Galilei and Michelangelo Buonarroti”. Celebrating the 450th birthday of the universal genius, Galileo Galilei. He was an Italian physist, mathematician, engineer, astronomer and philosopher who played a mayor role in the scientific revolution. The locomotive design also commemorates the 450th anniversary of the death of the Italian genius Michelangelo Buonarroti, better know as just Michelangelo. The Taurus locomotive was elaborately designed in cooperation with the ÖBB. The locomotive runs within Austria, but also across borders to the far north of Germany in front of passenger trains and freight trains. One side of the locomotive and one cab is dedicated to the respective artist. The design of the locomotive was created by the renowned artist Gudrun Geiblinger.
